Costumes and Leaves - First day of the October Sale!!

The October sale started today - one of my very favorite sales of the year! The colors and textures and mums and pumpkins and gourds - and an entire week of GORGEOUS weather - Life just doesn't get any better. And look at the parking areas - absolutely packed!!! When we opened the doors at 9am we were just about stampeded!

One of my favorite things about the October sale is that we cover the floors with leaves - this year they were all from Barb's yard!
We have such great customers - they come in and laugh about the leaves, laugh at the thought of us cleaning it all up, don't mind the dust it involves, and crunch their way thru the shop!

I think the youngest customers love it best - the kids stop dead and their eyes get big and then they all enjoy crunching and playing in the leaves - and of course that just gives us an excuse to do the same!!

Meet Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater - our official greeter on the deck!

Rose - our fearless leader, Grand Poobah, and probably one of the best looking scarecrows I've ever seen!

My husband Mike - our official Thursday morning "shop lifter" and Rose - hmmmmmmm, do you think I should be worried!?!?

And Mike with Gail - one hot witch!!! Mike doesn't like to be photographed usually - guess it is different with a pretty gal at his side!
Cindy C - our Ma Ingalls!!!
Me - a member of Junk Hunters Anonymous!
Ima Bee - usually known as Barb!

And our witch Gail!
A shot of the deck, a great pumpkin, some wonderful cages - and a perfectly blue sky!
A look into Bonnie's area - gotta love her pumpkin paintings!
Mary Ann had these great blue bins - and her watch crow!
LOVE the colors Cindy K used in her area!
Rose's great screen - what an awesome idea huh? Her photos were all attached permanently - but a corkboard screen would work great to display family photos that you want to keep updating!
Mike's center island - the top is made from salvaged bowling alley!!
Gail's chair and a half - it was so pretty and gorgeous - and Sold!!
